MEET THE TEAM 

At Somerstage, our team is made up of talented triple-threat performers and creatives that have performed worldwide in multiple areas of entertainment and theatre. With a wealth of professional experience in The West End, Touring Theatre, Television,  Backing Singing, Casting and Musicianship, they’re passionate about nurturing young performers, building confidence, and helping every student discover their own spotlight. 

Principal/ Head of Acting

Originally from Dundee, Lisa began her training at the Dance School of Scotland on the Musical Theatre course before continuing at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, graduating with a First Class Honours degree.

​

Straight after graduation, Lisa played April in West End Glee Club in Edinburgh and became a finalist in the prestigious Sondheim Performer of the Year Awards at the Playhouse Theatre in London’s West End.

Her theatre credits include Marjorie in The Day Before Spring (Sadler’s Wells), Ensemble in Through the Door (Trafalgar Studios), the 20th Anniversary Performance of Les Misérables (Queen’s Theatre, West End), and the leading role of Helen Miller in the UK Tour of Bugle Boy – The Story of Glenn Miller’s Life. Other notable credits include Young Jackie in Jackie the Musical and the leading female role of Mary Delgado in the international tour of Jersey Boys. Lisa has also appeared as a dancer in Kelta Fit (DVD release) and as a singer with London’s leading ceilidh band, Licence to Ceilidh.

 

Her professional pantomime appearances include Slave of the Ring in Aladdin (Newcastle Theatre Royal and King’s Theatre, Edinburgh), Enchantress in Sleeping Beauty (Venue Cymru), Spirit in Jack and the Beanstalk (King’s Theatre, Edinburgh), and Tinkerbell in Peter Pan (His Majesty’s Theatre, Aberdeen).

 

Six years ago, Lisa co-founded Somerstage Musical Theatre School with her husband, Tim, with the vision of inspiring younger generations and teaching professional skills in the performing arts. Alongside her work with Somerstage, Lisa collaborates with Bijou Talent, helping secure professional opportunities for students, and also prepares private singing students for LAMDA examinations.

Lisa feels incredibly fortunate to teach such talented and enthusiastic young performers and looks forward to seeing them shine on stage for many years to come.

Training: The Arts Educational School, London (BA Hons Musical Theatre)

 

Tim Bonser is a versatile guitarist, singer, actor and dancer from Bridgwater. He has performed globally at some of the world’s most prestigious venues, from The Royal Albert Hall to The Sydney Opera house, with a career that has spanned 11 years.

​

Theatre credits include: South Pacific UK tour, The Concert They Never Gave UK Tour, Mamma Mia International Tour, Spamalot West end and UK Tour, 20th Century Boy UK Tour, (New Wolsey and Belgrade), Tom the Musical UK Tour (Alternate Tom Jones).

​

Tim has been a member of Sir Cliff Richard's band for ten years as backing singer, guitarist, dancer and choreographer. Tim can be seen backing Sir Cliff on the ‘Still Reelin’ and a Rockin’ DVD live from the Sydney Opera House, ‘Cliffs 75th Birthday’ DVD live from the Albert Hall', 'Cliff Richard's 60th Anniversary Concert' DVD which was also screened live to over 80,000 people in cinemas worldwide and 'The Great 80 Tour'which culminated in a weeks run at The Royal Albert Hall and a live Broadcast to cinemas.

Tim is was also a member and choreographer of the vintage/modern group 'The Flyboys' who have recently completed a successful UK tour as support act for Sir Cliff Richard. Tim has also recently appeared in the BBC Saturday night series ‘Pitch Battle’ with The Flyboys. 

Creative Director/Head of Dance

Originally from Bridgwater, Dean trained in theatre and dance, performing with numerous local youth theatre companies and dancing at The Julia McDonald Dance Company. He gained early professional experience working alongside the resident company at The Brewhouse Theatre in Taunton and further developed his skills through summer programs with the National Youth Music Theatre (NYMT).

Dean was awarded a scholarship to train at Italia Conti, where he completed a three-year professional Musical Theatre course. Since graduating, he has built a career as a performer, choreographer, and movement director, working across theatre, film, and television. In addition to his performance work, Dean is a dedicated educator, mentoring young artists pursuing careers in the performing arts.

 

He is proud to be Creative Director & Head of Dance at Somerstage and is the founder of Brammall Dance Creative. Within the music industry, Dean collaborates closely with singer Nadine Coyle, contributing to performances at some of the UK’s most prestigious arenas.

Dance/Singing

Phoebe has been performing since the age of three, taking part in numerous local shows and productions in and around Bridgwater until she was 18. She then went on to train at Performers College in Essex, graduating in 2016 with a Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre.

 

During her time there, she had the incredible opportunity to perform as a dancer at the FA Cup Final and appear alongside Ed Sheeran on The X Factor. After graduating, Phoebe spent six years traveling the world as a Lead Production Vocalist aboard Costa and AIDA Cruise Lines.

 

Since returning to Somerset, she has embraced a new chapter in her career, teaching Musical Theatre and Singing at Somerstage Musical Theatre, Fox King Dance Academy, and Mountway School of Dance, as well as working as an Associate Lecturer in Singing at Bridgwater College. Now, Phoebe is thriving behind the scenes, contributing to the creative process of productions.

 

Most recently, she served as Musical Director for Strode Theatre’s 2024 pantomime, Peter Pan. Last year, she had the exciting opportunity to work in Turkey as an assistant director and choreographer, creating a brand-new show for professional dancers at a five-star resort. Passionate about every aspect of performance, Phoebe loves sharing her enthusiasm and expertise with everyone at Somerstage and is excited about what’s to come!

Singing

​Paige has been performing since the age of 5 with many theatre and dance groups in and around Somerset. Paige started her professional studies at Bridgwater College, and later at Colchester Institute. During her time at college, Paige was a part of the Bridgwater College Show Choir, and had the chance to perform at Universal Studios in Orlando Florida, The Royal Albert Hall, live on Channel 5 as a part of ‘Don’t Stop Believing: the search for the UK’s best Show Choir’, and at the Apollo Victoria Theatre with the cast of ‘Wicked’.

 

Following graduation, Paige had the chance to perform in a modern take on a classic pantomime: ‘Cinderella - Boom Or Bust’ at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, where she was lucky enough to have her role written specifically for her! Paige’s journey then took her to working at both Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney World in Florida (twice!!), which are two of her proudest achievements to date. During her time working at Epcot, Paige was a part of the Cast Member Choir and performed at the world famous Candlelight Processional at the Epcot International Festival of The Holidays, singing with Neil Patrick Harris, Whoopi Goldberg and Gary Sinise.

 

Now back in Somerset, Paige can be found performing with local vocal group ‘The Vixens’, as well as coaching LAMDA exams at Queens College, Taunton. Paige is excited to be offering private singing lessons locally, recently becoming a qualified Estill instructor. She was also Musical Director for the most recent Somerstage production of Newsies Jr. Paige is so happy to be part of Team Somerstage, and feels so proud to be working with such a talented and wonderful group.
